The Business English program prepares the trainees to undergo the Business English Certificate
(BEC) test.
• Business English Certificate (BEC):
We are providing the preparation course for the certificate and the exam will be held at the
British Council.
• What is the BEC?
It is an internationally recognized qualification exam that measures your English proficiency
within the business context. The validity of this certificate is not time framed; however it varies
from one organization to another.
• What are the BEC levels?
There are three different levels of BEC:
BEC Preliminary (CEF level B1): it is an intermediate-level qualification, at this level, you
would be able to carry out basic office tasks such as:
> Reading short messages.
> Interpreting charts.
> Writing a short email.
> Following short telephone conversations and discussions.
> Talking about business-related matters.
BEC Vantage (CEF level B2): it is an upper-intermediate and pre-advanced level qualification, at
this level you would be able to:
> Write short pieces of business correspondence, reports or proposals.
> Read extracts from business publications.
> Listen to, understand and contribute to discussions in meetings.
BEC Vantage (CEF level C1): it is an advanced level qualification, at this level you would
be able to:
> Communicate effectively at managerial and professional level.
> Participate with confidence in workplace meetings and presentations.
> Express yourself with a high level of fluency.
